Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective October 5, 2026
This policy explains how Ink Finder, Inc. (“Ink Finder,” “we,” “us”) handles consumer health data: information that identifies you and describes your physical health. Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut have laws that protect this information, and we follow this policy for everyone. It adds to our Privacy Policy.
The health data we collect, and why
- Allergies and skin conditions you choose to add to a booking request, such as a latex allergy or sensitive skin. We use them to tell the shop what it needs to know to plan your tattoo safely.
- Healing support messages and photos you send your shop after a tattoo, such as photos of the tattoo while it heals and descriptions of redness, swelling, irritation, or other symptoms, and the replies and notes your shop’s staff write about your healing. We use them to connect you with your shop for aftercare advice.
- Health answers on a shop’s consent form, such as medications you take, allergies, skin conditions, or pregnancy, when the shop’s form asks for them. The shop writes its form and uses your answers to decide whether and how to tattoo you safely. We store the signed form for the shop.
We don’t infer health information from other data, we don’t use health data for advertising, and we don’t use precise location to track visits to health care providers.
Where it comes from
- From you, when you fill in a booking request, send a healing support message, or sign a shop’s consent form.
- From the shop you’re working with, when its staff reply to you or write notes about your healing.
Your consent
We ask for your consent before we collect your health data. On a booking request, you tick a box before your allergy or skin details are sent, and if you don’t, we don’t keep them. In the Ink Finder app, we ask once before your first healing support message, and your consent covers later messages until you withdraw it. A shop’s consent form asks for your agreement on the form itself.
If you reply by email to a healing check-in your shop sent you, we add your reply to that thread so the shop sees it.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your health data, as described below. Withdrawing doesn’t affect what was collected before, but it does delete it.
Who we share it with
- The shop you’re working with, and its artists and staff. Sharing your health data with that shop is the reason we collect it, and your consent covers it.
- Service providers that process it for us under contract and only to provide their service: cloud hosting providers that store our database and files, Mailgun, which delivers the email notifications about your messages, and Dropbox, which receives copies of consent forms when the shop has connected its own Dropbox account.
- As the law requires, for example in response to a valid court order.
We have no affiliates that receive health data. We never sell consumer health data.
How long we keep it
- Allergy and skin details: with the booking they belong to, until you delete them or your information is deleted.
- Healing support messages and photos: 2 years after the thread is resolved, or until you delete them.
- Signed consent forms: at least 7 years after signing, for the shop’s records.
Your rights
- See your health data and the list of who received it.
- Delete your health data. This removes your allergy and skin details from every booking and deletes your healing support threads and photos. Copies in our email provider’s logs expire within 30 days, and deleted data leaves our backups within 30 days.
- Withdraw your consent, which deleting your health data does.
How: signed in to the Ink Finder app, go to your settings to see your health data or delete it. Or email privacy@inkfinder.tattoo from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity, and we answer within 45 days. Someone you authorize can make a request for you, with proof that you authorized them.
Consent forms belong to the shop. To see or delete a signed consent form, contact the shop that holds it. We’ll help the shop answer you, and we’ll tell you which shops hold a form you signed.
Appeals: if we decline your request, reply to our answer with the word “Appeal” and we’ll respond within 45 days. If you still disagree, you can contact your state attorney general. In Washington, file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
